This series of photographs documented the staircase details of the recently completed Taichung Metropolitan Opera House by architect Toyo Ito. I intend to accentuate the formal quality of the white staircase volume within the opera house interior through a more creative approach. These compositions visualised the staircase as design compositions, where staircase volumes and its formal conditions are treated as geometries floating in space. These photographs focused on producing gradual tonal difference between these white volumes in order to create subtle imageries of white staircase forms.
