On a recent road trip through the Western U.S., I stumbled upon the eerie town of Atomic City, IDâ€”home of the world's first fatal nuclear reactor accident (1961). On this grey, snowy day I wanted to capture the feeling of time standing still. To me it looked as if nothing had changed since 1961â€”as if the accident had just happened, and all that remained were a few houses and a bar.
