As a film director I have been a maker of stories all of my professional life. As one who grew up with television, I also passively absorb other people’s stories. Invitation to Story uses a combination of dramatic film and photographic techniques to produce a provocation to our television/movie generations. It’s an invitation to imagination, asking us to participate in the act of creation. Are these works from the end of the story … or from the beginning? What is the story? It is up to the observer to answer these questions. At the same time we are invited to ask others. What is story? How are stories created? Who owns a story the author or the observer? These works are all shot in situ. There are no additional components added in photoshop.
