When I was traveling from Anza Borrego State Park to San Diego by car, a white shadow on the side of the highway flashed through my sight. I asked to stopped the car immediately and recorded this vibrant beauty with my camera. These plants' tolerance for drought really impressed me. Their pure, chalky white leaves in the center of the rosettes still stood out among the withered, yellow grass around them and gleamed with exuberance in the intense sunlight.
