This story is about Dutch veterans who got severely wounded in one of the Dutch army missions abroad. There are about 1,000 wounded veterans in the Netherlands from missions of the last 40 years. That's not insignificant for a country the size of the Netherlands. These veterans would want nothing more than to go back to the way they were, but they can't. They are confronted with their injuries on a daily basis, physically and/or mentally. The title of the project reflects their struggle to cope.
What is it like to live with severe injuries, every day. To be confronted every day with that one moment when everything changed? No heroism this time, but the harsh reality of what life is like. These veterans struggle to get back to the way they were, mentally and physically, but life will never be the same
