A train speeding forward, passing another train rushing in the opposite direction. A split second. A sense of advancing, yet retrograde motion. The feeling of standing still. Fleeting glimpses of others. Their souls. A piece of summer sky. Passing impressions piled one on top of another -- as time bends around. This is an ongoing series where I ride along a single New York City subway line from one end to the other. The tracks run through both subterranean and elevated stations. I use diptychs to enhance the surreal sense and cacophony of images that is so much a part of the subway experience.
