'Adored and Adorned” is series of photographic and mixed media meta-portraits made in collaboration between photographic artist David Scheinmann and fashion creative director Harvey B-Brown. Starting by taking photographs of people they adore, they adorn these images in their own inimitable style, using materials and techniques that form a narrative about the person. The photographic prints are transformed into three dimensions using paints, inks, collage and sculptural techniques and then further augmented with postproduction technology. The resulting images are heightened “Meta-portraits”; much more than a traditional photographic portrait. Scheinmann and B-Brown recognise that today with the selfie revolution, the curated self is the new icon and everyone has a story to tell. No one is off limits in their work, including themselves.
