Fluorescent microscopic image of a chameleon embryo that went through a skeletal prep process. It was skinned and stained with Alician Blue and Alizarin Red dyes, then went through several chemical washes to dissolve soft tissue and clear the remaining tissue. The image was taken with a Zeiss Discovery V16 and Axiocam 503 mono. The colors were added in the Zeiss Zen software and manipulated using the levels of the histogram. Photoshop was used to make the background a monotonous black and to remove some dirt that was on the embryo.
