Sand is one of the most fantastic subjects you can photograph from the natural world. It has a great variety in color as well as in shape. I found these regions of spectacular sand dunes in various countries of Africa by looking at Google Earth and started a complicated plan on how to photograph the dunes from above. It required a lot of planning and there were difficulties to find helicopters for some of the areas. I totally spent 2 months of travleing and about 10 hours in the air for the project.
