Salt marshes & sandbanks are renowned for their productivity. The accumulation of plant and animal rivals and often exceeds other highly productive ecosystems, such as coral reefs and rainforests. These fragile systems often provide nursery and breeding grounds for marine creatures and birdlife. Despite the valuable services these provide coastal populations, they are under siege from human disturbance globally. This series of aerial images are taken at different locations of UK coastline to showcase their beauty. I hope it will help to raise awareness to protect these unique ecosystems.
