Early one June morning I gazed into an old cast iron tea kettle sitting outside on the hand railing and noticed a fully formed yellowjacket hive inside. The sun was just peaking over the rim of our home casting a ray of light that flowed into the kettle. The bees seemed to be busy working on their comb and didnt' seem to be bothered, just yet anyway, by my peering into their hive with my camera. I used a ladder along with the Canon 5D Digital Camera and the Canon 100mm Macro Lens on a bogen Tripod with Manfrotto Head.
