Rising dramatically from Lake Superior, the mineral-stained cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore have a profound affect on all who visit them. But Pictured Rocks is more than its fabled shoreline. It is also thousands of acres of forest filled with wildflowers, lakes, rivers and waterfalls. It is shipwrecks, lighthouse, and shifting sand dunes. Craig Blacklock has traveled here throughout all seasons via kayak and on foot, providing us with both a naturalist’s and an artist’s view of this magnificent park. Many photographs were made from several captures, extending both the range of exposure and focus.
