The Golden Age is a portrait project in which I photographed senior women in full costume, makeup, and set reproductions of iconic scenes from classic films. It was a collaboration with a local elderly community centre. The series was a way forme to explore what really classic and timeless means, and to challenge our current youth-centered and celebrity-obsessed culture. My subjects are all over fifty years old, some are over eighty. They helped to choose which characters they wanted to represent. The project was also a way to simply show that glamour and fun are not only for the young.
