These images were made in 2009, almost one year after the great Sichuan earthquake. They offer a glimpse into the daily life of residents and survivors in Dujiangyan, Jiangyou and Ping Le, Sichuan Province, China. 42.000 aftershocks had been counted over the previous 9 months, and this led many locals to believe that worse was to come. Several million families were living in relocation camps and had spent the winter without permanent shelter. In April of 2013, a magnitude 7 earthquake struck near the town of Ya’an, reigniting fear in the region.
