“If you want to touch the invisible, penetrate the visible as deeply as you can” (Max Beckmann). 'Fetuses' examines a state of dissociation and of lack of control on behalf of those being photographed. The way in which these young woman were photographed, ignites their survival instinct. They experience a momentary state of dissociation in which they let go of the self-conscious feeling of being photographed. This allows the camera to capture new fragments of the human existence. The women are portrayed as both mothers and fetuses, in the inevitable and inexplicable cycle of cause and effect.
