Horyuji is a Buddhist temple in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, Japan. The grounds of Horyuji house is oldest wooden structures existing in the world, conveying images of Japan as it existed more than 1,300 years ago. The Japanese government lists several of its structures, sculptures and artifacts as national Treasures. In 1993, Horyuji was selected by UNESCO as part of the World Heritage.
