I am underwater photographer, I draw with my camera, light and water. I see my work [incorrectly] as in-camera underwater photograms. For two decades I photographed marine life. When I photograph in the ocean now, I often find void and damage instead, footprints where we humans shouldn't have left any. That is why today I photograph empty oceans. I photograph in the narrow zone in-between the ocean's surface and just beneath it. I use a flow of water over the surface camera's housing, light-reflecting debris and surrounding microscopic floating life to create these abstract photographic images. I make my own platinum-palladium prints.
