Arctic sea ice shrinks every year. The last decade, however, has seen a series of below-normal extents. Except all these threats there is one more big problem. It is the very north of Russian border. Archipelago of Franz Josef Land. Nobody lives here but there is a vivid mark left by soviet military bases: aviation fuel, rusty barrels, waste, radar station. Alexandra Land is covered with about sixty thousand tons of oil in tanks and barrels. Executing the order of Russian President, brought here 150 Russian workers to clean the land and to create a national park Russian Arctic.
