Horyu-ji temple was established by order of Prince Shotoku, the founder of the Japanese Buddhism, back in 607. Its grand temple is widely known as the oldest wooden architecture existing in the world. While maintaining the building, the priests also kept the traditional customs throughout 1,400 years of history.
