'The Cardboard Man' is a personal project that I created, built and photographed. It is based on the idea that there exists a parallel and fragile world that is built completely out of cardboard, with cardboard individuals living within. These cardboard men are abstract depictions of the monster that lies beneath an abusive rapist: geometrical, pixilated and emotionless. I wanted to create a universe out of one single material, choosing cardboard for it’s recyclable properties. All floors, wallpapers, furniture and costumes were built using cardboard sheets. 3,500 square feet of cardboard were used in the construction of this set.
