On the U.S. Military's Naval Air Base in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, nobody is ever off duty - not the detainees nor the military personnel who guard them. These images depict some of the ways both groups pass the time.

Story

The military base on Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, known as Gitmo, is home to 154 men detained as "enemy combatants," more than half of whom were cleared for release years ago, as well as thousands of military personnel. Images of leisure activities in such a highly controlled environment raise questions about what it means for both detainees and military personnel to do time in a place where none have chosen to live.
