LLadakh in remote northern corner of India is perhaps truly the last Shangri-la. Situated at an average height of 10,000 Ft, it is home to several colourful monasteries set in picturesque locations around the valley. The magnificent structures that date back many centuries, are spread over the region, sometimes accessible only in summer over mountain passes that rise to 17,500 ft above sea level.
