Originally trained as a painter, using a digital camera and synthetic filters, I created new forms and perspectives that could easily live as an abstract painting. I combined digital processing with a documentary approach to abstract the underground urban landscape of the subway passageways. This practice gave me the freedom to explore the way light touches an a surface and the ambiguity that exists in the shape of a line or curve of a shadow. The blending of both disciplines gave birth to these images.
