My Eventide (noun: end of the day) series contains images of places where tides—oceans and salt lakes—merge with evening. The images combine earth, water, air, and fire. Created by using intentional camera movement and slow shutter speed, it is the time of the day, the light, and the weather that create differences in the floating bands of colour. They are also inspired by my long-standing obsession with Mark Rothko’s paintings and the meditative quality of his work. Meditation is a large part of my life and I enjoy creating art that gives people's minds the space to rest.
