Khayelitsha is a township in the Western Cape of South Africa. It is a destitute place to try and survive in, yet I found myself incredibly attracted to it. After photographing and talking with the residents, I realized that my attraction was to the simplicity of it all. There is nothing fake there. The peoples' perception of home is genuine and simple. Everywhere you look there is a welcoming face, regardless of the fact that it may be peering out of a seemingly 'unattractive' house.
