Story

In the summer of 2014 Israel decided to engage in a new military operation against Gaza, with the declared purpose of destroying the Hamas tunnels. The operation, called “Protective Edge”, was based both on airstrikes, shelling and ground troops attack. The war left more than 2,000 Palestinian killed, of which 513 were children. The urban areas where Hamas had more supporters have been targeted and it is estimated that more than 100,000 Palestinian had their house severely damaged or completely destroyed. Much of the civil infrastructure has been seriously compromised during the attack, leaving the population without electricity and water for many days in a row. These images try to describe the situation during and in the immediate aftermath of war.
