In 2014 I embarked on a journey to explore what my homeland of Wales meant to me in relation to the Welsh word Hiraeth. Hiraeth has no direct English translation but is often defined as a memory tinged with grief or sadness. A mix of longing or yearning for a place, person or memory of the past. Using the entire coastline of Wales as a catalyst, and by continuously walking 900 miles over a 70 day period, the resulting body of work aims to pictorially represent experiences of nostalgia, memory and Hiraeth, using the people and landscape I encountered
