Story

In Humantria, made up of 8 photographs, but here I present only 5.
It is presenting the human figure in the context of
geometric forms, I inquire into the relations between the body and the figure, I focus
on divisions, composition, geometry. The cycle is based on a minimalist scenery, which
brings out the problem I undertake, basing on formal solutions, but also allowing it
to influence the sphere of message and significance. One might say that these are pictograms
of sorts. The symbolism is obvious.
I perform here an analysis of the symbol along with the context of social roles of
women and men ascribed to it. From my perspective, our times see a homogenisation,
a blurring of the social male and female roles, a mimicry. Women and men swap their
roles. Men bring up children and women support the household.I’m living in times of
enormous technological and social changes.
The increase in awareness is impossible to stop. As recently as a hundred years ago,
women fought for the right to wear trousers as the more comfortable kind of clothes,
giving a greater freedom of movement both literally and in the symbolic sense.
A hundred years later they have shed the social corset, at the same time gaining ever
more space for themselves. The masculine world is slowly giving way, yielding to delicate
suggestion. And this is where the question arises of how much society is bound
to benefit from this?
