Known as the gateway to the desert, Agadez, on the southern edge of the Sahara desert,was developed in the 15th century.The Mosque was built in 1515 and restored in 1844. Agadez was an important stop for caravans crossing the Saharan Desert. It is one of the largest Adobe structures in the world.
