“The substance of painting is light.” Andre Derain said. Paraphrasing Derain, we can say that the substance of photographing, of a photograph is light. This is what I intend with this series, to make a study of light of one of the most fascinating structures of Athens, Greece - The Agora designed by Santiago Calatrava. The intention was to "draw" with light on a basis I capture with my camera from the outside world, thus creating a new reality: the reality I see in my mind when I look at this structure and its environment. I call this process (en)Visionography and (www.envisionography.com) and I aim through it to move from the traditional sense of photography towards an art where I rely more on my vision than on the outside world to interpret reality and recreate it in my images.
