Entry Description: I attended on June 14th 2015 the Chimpanzee Trekking at the Kibale Forest National Park, Uganda, Africa. The Kibale Forest National Park was created in 1993 to protect a large area of rain forest. I started at the Kanyanchu Visitor Center with the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. This experience allowed me to accompany Kibale researchers and the habituation team to watch chimpanzees during their daily activities.

About the Artist:

Hello, I am a self - taught Wildlife, Natur- and Travel Photographer from Germany. My main goal is to produce a photograph that tells a story. I am focused to capture wildlife in a very specific moment, for instance such as animals eating, fighting or in other actions, revealing their secrets and stories. "It's magic when you discover the unforeseen, the nature as it is. Much time, good instincts, perseverance, care, and patience are required to create that special moment." I grew up in East Germany and I started to take pictures, when I was 10 years old. "I received a typical old-fashioned East-German camera and at that time it was just about taking any pictures that came along. These pictures have been only in black & white. When the wall came down, I was 14 years old. It wasn't until then, that we were freely allowed to travel." I started my education in the hotel business and have worked in several hotels in Germany and the UK. I hold a bachelor degree in hotelmanagement (Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework ( GQF & EQF). I also have worked in the tourism industry, which allowed my desire for travelling to grow, becoming an international certified tour guide. I hope my photographic work will inspire others to appreciate and respect nature and to acknowledge the importance to protect wildlife and conserve it's natural environment. Even though my work has not reached my best hopes yet, please enjoy the efforts displayed and please feel free to visit my website http://www.ramonaheiner.com. Any Feedback is welcome. Thank you. Best wishes, Ramona
