I took this photo of Melbourne City back in 2012. We were into the early days of winter and on that Monday morning, the freezing cold weather was well and truly set in. Arrived half an hour before sunrise the mist in the city was quite heavy. The sun rose but the city was still dark and covered in fog. Around 09:00am finally the fog lifted a little and the light broke through, bounced off the buildings and reflected onto the water below. Well did I want the rower to be there at that time. I had no choice but to take the shot. Less than a minute the light disappeared. I had waited for the light since 05:30am and I wasn’t going to miss it. An after-thought, the rower certainly added another dimension into the image.
