Story

I was born and raised in Italy from Iranian Muslim father and Italian catholic mother. During my life I had only few chances to meet my paternal relatives and the spoken language barrier did not help. Almost one year ago the mother of my father died so I decided to go to Teheran for the funeral and I stayed at her home. I was not allowed to go out alone neither bring my camera when accompanied. I was also denied to participate to some of the funeral related activities. So I started to take pictures around me trying to understand who my grandmother was.
