Bijoy Mishra is a retired businessman and an avid photographer. His lifelong passion for photography has taken him through many parts of the world with people of varied customs and cultures, since his first round the world trip in 1968. He splits his time living in Seattle, Mumbai and traveling. He has self-published two books, one on his travel photography named “Journey through my lens” in March 2012, which included some images dating back to the early 60's and the days of box cameras. This book received Honorable Mention and was awarded second place in self-plublished books in a juried competition held by International Photography Awards in Los Angeles. The second self-published book “Lake View- A view of Lake Washington from my Window” also received Honorable Mention by International Photography Awards in 2016. He has successfully held exhibitions in Mumbai, Bhubaneswar and Budapest and many of his photographs have garnered international acclaim having favorited, featured and telecast by prominent media houses e.g. CNN, USA ToDay, NatGeo Travel,Travel & Leisure, Lonely Planet etc. and TV Channels in Seattle, KOMO News, KIRO, Fox 13 and affiliates of NBC and ABC in other parts of the USA. His photograph "Where Past and Present Meet" was honored at a private reception at the Louvre Museum, in Paris, on July 13, 2015 as a part of the Night Photography Collection, for the Fifth Annual Exposure Award.
