"Feed my Soul" is an inquiry on the social, psychological and symbolic meaning of food in our times. Much more than pure nutrition, food is consolation, temptation and status symbol. It reveals family structures and hierarchies, expression of love and hate, poverty and opulence. While the pictures are all inspired by paintings of the European Art History, my goal is not to recreate existing images by using photography but to examine how these masters depicted situations of eating and drinking and to re-interpret them in a contemporary reading.
