God’s Fingerprints begins by capturing the doctrines of two religions that are most influential in our society―Christianity and Buddhism―through photography. I condensed the contents of each religion’s doctrines into two-dimensional bar codes, called QR, and directly included them in the photographic images. Based on religious characteristics, this has the effect of increasing the reliability and holiness of the given image content. Furthermore, spectators are positioned as participants in completing the work, as they can directly read the contents of the doctrines linked to the QR code through an App in their smart phones. By transforming the former passive attitude of appreciation into an active form, spectators are able to feel the charm of the works in a new way.
