My photographs are in pursuit of elegance within chaos through the cropping of images of repurposed art supplies. Assorted studio trash is tossed onto a light pad allowing it to fall where it may. After photographing it, cropping the images features its unique charisma. Further, I favor a visual language that explores the shallow picture plane and cropping accentuates that preference. My photographs highlight an ephemeral world that reflects upon something vulnerable while speaking to the very nature of our existence. The only computer processes applied to the photographs is the occasional cloning over of small distractive spots.
