Rhyolite is a ghost town in the U.S. state of Nevada. The town began in early 1905, During gold rush, thousands of gold-seekers, developers, miners and service providers flocked to Rhyolite. However, by the end of 1910, the mine was operating at a loss, and it closed in 1911. After that, the population in Rhyolite dropped dramatically. After 1920, Rhyolite was abandoned and has become a ghost town. Rhyolite is not just a ghost town but a witness of the gold rush in the Western U.S.
