Traditional photographic composition emphasizes subtraction and simplification for good reasons. We amplify subjects when we isolate them. But in this series I am attempting to amplify in the other direction, into the complexity, the bricolage, the forest rather than the trees. Some scenes offer their own density, and others benefit from intense telephoto compression. I find them analogous to contemporary life in several registers, little fables or tableaux.
