Ruth and Howard Lemery, Knoxoboro, NY had been married for many years, had three children and a number of grand children. Howard had been employed at Oneida Silver until his retirement and then took up knife making and other hobbies. They were a congenial couple who liked being together, but nevertheless valued their privacy. The Lemerys were our next door neighbors who served as surrogate grandparents to my son when we lived there from 1976 to 1985. Mr. Lemery showed me how to forage for wild vegetables and to slaughter chickens.
