Story

These photos are a personal interpretation of poems. The poems are in Dutch but I will explain what the poems are about..

The first photo is about an old woman who is crying in the corridor of a nursing home that she has lost everyone and she is very lonely. She is confused and besides people she has also lost direction inside her mind.
In the next photo there is a girl who committed suicide. When you think about being death the thought drags you deeper and deeper. Than the point comes.. maybe you can just look and see how it is to be death but when you are there, there is no turning back.
The third is about an old lady who lives in welfare and although she has bad legs she knows that when she comes home there is a cup of tea waiting for her and she knows that she is safe. In other areas of the world there is war and suppression. I want to give the women in these areas the freedom and peace of the old lady.
In the photo after you can see the power of words. A small girl who is talking to a big impressive man in a dark and empty alley. With her sweet talks and enthusiasm she makes the man smile and he becomes her friend.
The last photo is about idiots with ideals they want to fulfil their ideals by killing, to fulfil their ideals at the expense of everything, a class in school, a child playing on the beach, a family on holidays all for the border of a country or a god that might not even exist or whatever their reason might be.
