This series of photographs explores the connection between man and nature. In New Zealand there is a significant history of exploration, starting in the mid 1800s when British explorers colonised the country. I wanted to capture the joy and peace that man experiences when he is amongst nature. I believe in natural conservation and seek to inspire people about the importance and beauty of nature in my photos. I include a person in my shots as I feel it adds another dimension to the photo, people can relate to it and the background becomes more 'real'. It is important to take a step back from society at times and reconnect yourself with this magnificent planet. I hope that my photos inspire you to do so.
