Sarah Matthew lives in Plainfield, Vermont. She is a volunteer firefighter, an EMT, an hospital emergency room technician, a mother of two children and she breeds Friesian Sport Horses. She also teaches and competes in competitive dressage and leads equestrian drill team performances. She and her husband Jonathan built the barns and fencing on their large property, which houses twenty-nine horses. When a mare gives birth, they do so right into Sarah's waiting arms; that's how much they trust and love her. This image was shot for my new photography book VERMONT: AN OUTSIDER'S INSIDE VIEW.
