Shot during participation in a 1985 Magnum workshop in Northern Minnesota during the depression in the Iron Range economy. Poet Carolyn Forché and Photographer Harry Mattison lead teams of photographers and writers. Our location was Silver Bay, during the 4th of July week. A child's imagination enjoys a tame ride at the traveling carnival in town.
