I came across these dead trees while photographing mudskippers in Borneo. During high tide, the trees will be half submerged with muddy sea water, giving a land like illusion from a distance. I waited for this to happen while the cloudy monsoon weather acts as an icing on the cake, completing all the elements into a surreal painting. Took this image right before an incoming storm on a wooden platform to create a higher point of view.
