Since I was a child my favourite animal has been a penguin. But the idea of having one of this comical and lovable animals as friend had only existed in my imagination until recently. I was asked if I would submit a photographic fashion story to a magazine with the theme ‘best friends forever’. Instantly I knew what I wanted to photograph: a childhood dream I could now make a reality (well, visually anyway). The series of pictures captures what a boy might do with his penguin friend, every day things that normal best friends would get up to. The viewer will see either a boy and his best friend (who just happens to be a penguin) or a boy who has an imaginary friend that only he can see. Personally I think that the penguin is real but I will let you make up your own mind!
