Portraits taken at rallies for presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders
By early 2016, deep frustration with a dysfunctional federal government had two unlikely presidential candidates stealing the spotlight. While Donald J. Trump (R.) and Bernie Sanders (D.) made claims so unconventional media pundits head’s would spin, impassioned voters and families turned out for their political rallies by the hundreds of thousands.
The tradition of political rallies offers voters a chance to intimately connect with candidates and each other, limited only by their patience to stand in line for hour upon hour. It was at these daylong events that I made portraits of ignited Trump and Sanders supporters eager to blow up the American political system once and for all.
