Peru, Maras, 3050 mt. a.s.l. The salt ponds of Maras, a wonder of nature. The natives claim it is the salty water of the Ocean that, through splits in the mountain, flows at this altitude. An unexpected gift that the local populations have been able to transform already at the time of the Incas. Creating ponds in order to collect water and with the help of sun and wind the exstraction of salt takes place. A marvel made possible by the hard humans' work and the special environmental conditions.
