Rohingya is an ethnic muslim group which inhabits in the north of the Myanmar state of Arakan. They are mainly farmers and fishermen. They see themselves as indigenous residents of Arakan, while the Buddhist majority of Myanmar considers them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. Because of human rights abuses by the ruling Myanmar junta generals Rohingya immigrated to Bangladesh. They do not have any documents like passport or birth certificates which makes them impossible to use medical care, look for a job or use medical care. About 140,000 Rohingya in the Rakhine state live in ghetto-like camps that they can't leave without government permission. The photo was taken in the Kutupalong refugee camp on the Myanmar-Bengali border.
