This set of environmental portraits depict the relationship between a country girl and her lost hometown. This abandoned quarry near an upper stream of Yangtze River has seen its busy days thanks to the rapid development of Chinese economy, and also the consequent devastation to the existing cultivable lands. After years of exploitation, the quarry has stopped operation, however its impact on the local environment can not be reverted. I wish to arouse people's awareness about sustainable development and environment protection through the girl's body expressions that show her deep love and sorrow for her hometown. I dedicate to continuous efforts on this project, and hope to cover more environment issues using environmental portraits in the future.
